Driving Targeted Traffic To Your Niche Website in 5 Easy Steps

Making affiliate sales is all about getting the right types of visitors to your website. Here are 5 different ways to drive targeted traffic to your niche website. Work your way through these and see if you don't start seeing more visitors, more subscribers and most importantly more affiliate sale notifications.
Social Media

Step one is to stop at your favorite social media site including Twitter and Facebook. Look for people that are interested in what your site has to offer. In other words, if your site is about parenting toddlers, find moms and dads with young children and start making friends or following them. Share tips for them and occasionally link back to your own site. Don't push a lot of affiliate links on these sites, instead use them to build a relationship with your target audience and then direct them back to your site where they can learn more and subscribe to your newsletter.

Article Marketing

Your next step is to write and submit a few articles to your favorite article directories. Not only will you be building some strong links back to your site (which will help with SEO), you're also establishing yourself as an expert in your niche. The general idea is for other webmasters and ezine editors to pick up your article and publish it on their own site or ezine. If this happens with a popular site or large newsletter, this can result in quite a bit of targeted traffic.

Forum Marketing

The next strategy for getting targeted traffic to your affiliate website is forum marketing. Go out and find 3 to 5 active forums in your niche. Going back to the parenting example, find forums like the one at the baby center website. Make sure they are active forums with at least 5 to 10 new posts per day.

Start participating on the forum. Answer questions, ask your own and share some helpful tips. If allowed, include a signature file that links back to your own site. Make sure you fill out your profile information on each forum. Spend a few minutes each day on these sites.

Blog Commenting

Another quick method is blog commenting. The idea here is to find 5 to 10 popular blogs in your niche. You can find them via Google's Blog search or on Technorati. Start commenting regularly. I recommend you set up an RSS reader and pull the feeds for these blogs into them. That gives you a quick way to see who has new content up that you may want to comment on. Leave a thoughtful comment and of course enter your website into the URL field in the blog comment box.

Guest Blogging

Step five is the most ambitious one, but also the one with the highest traffic potential. After you've spent a few weeks commenting on a particular blog, approach the blogger with a guest blog post. This is similar to an article or a blog post you would write on your own site. At the end of the post invite readers to check out your own site. Send this guest post to the blogger and see if he or her will publish it for you.

Rinse and repeat these 5 traffic getting strategies regularly and you should see quite a boost in visitors, subscribers and affiliate commissions.
